Handmade espresso cups
Handmade espresso cups Set of 2. Pottery espresso cups created on the potter's wheel in Dorset, England.
The cups are thrown then left to dry until leather hard. Small handles are then pulled from a piece of clay. Each cup is carved to create a texture on the outside and then the handle is applied and impressed with the MadeByPowley stamp at the base of the handle.
After the espressos are completely dried, they are fired in the kiln (bisqued), glazed, and fired to 1200 degrees. So happy to open the kiln and see these miniature mugs!!!!
Pair of espresso mugs for espresso lovers!
The pottery espressos are covered in blue and green glaze. There are 2 sets: one is predominantly green and the other blue.
The mugs are hand-thrown on my potter's wheel on the south coast of Dorset. When the mug has dried for a day, it is carved to create a texture near the base of the cup. A handle is then pulled from a lump of clay and attached to the mug. At the bottom of the handle, the MadeByPowley stamp is pressed into the clay. When it is bone dry, the mug is loaded into the kiln for its first firing - the bisque firing - which reaches 1050 degrees Celcius. The mug is then ready to glaze. After glazing, it then returns to the kiln for its final high firing that reaches 1240 degrees Celcius.
Listing is for a set of 2 espresso mugs. There are 2 sets available: slightly more blue or slightly more green (as described above). There is a separate listing for the pink espressos.
